Bea Glancy in rehearsals for The Book Thief

Patrick Mather, founder of Tutors & Futures, recently had the pleasure of watching Bea Glancy, one of the company’s long-standing students, in the world premiere of the musical The Book Thief. Adapted from Markus Zusak’s international bestselling novel, the musical adaptation premiered at The Octagon Theatre in Bolton.

Promising Career

Bea has been home educated for a number of years in order that she can focus much of her time on her acting endeavours. She has balanced her academic progression with training at the Footlights Stage School in Prestwich. She has previously appeared in Game of Thrones, as well as a number of other productions both on stage and screen. In The Book Thief Bea took on the lead role of Liesel Meminger, the young orphan growing up in Second World War Germany.

Rave Reviews

Reflecting on the show he witnessed, Patrick said:

“Bea has always been a wonderful student and a personable character. Her passion for acting shines through whenever you talk to her. It was a pleasure to see her tremendous performance, particularly given the historically significant nature of the piece. I am sure she will go on to have a long and successful career, and I look forward to supporting her through to the conclusion of her academic journey.”

Soli, Our Sister Company

Soli, Our Sister Company

We are proud to announce the launch of Soli, our sister company. Soli offers all-in-one pastoral support to young people. We believe that it is more important than ever before for organisations to offer SEN/SEMH services to their students. The Covid pandemic has highlighted the fact that many young people struggle to access the additional support they so desperately need.

Soli’s Services

As part of their offering, they can provide diagnostic assessments for dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD and autism. All of the assessors are highly experienced, and all of the assessments can be carried out remotely. Furthermore, Soli have exam specialists who can work with students who require Access Arrangements for formal examinations. This can fit in with our Predicted Grades service.

Soli also offer:

●  CBT

●  Speech and Language Therapy

●  PSHE Sessions

●  Grief Counselling

●  Skin Consultations

●  Period Support

●  Eating Disorder Support

The Why

Soli is a passion project brought about due to the tragic loss of one of our students. We don’t want any students to fall through the cracks or have their progress hindered in any way. Nobody should have to struggle in silence or be stigmatised. You can read more about the story here.
