An increasing number of families are deciding that online classes are the best way to access a high quality education. My classes offer a flexible and affordable choice for young people outside mainstream education. Home education classes can provide opportunities to students across the world, meaning that they are no longer limited by geographical location.
My classes create a welcoming learning environment for home educated students so that they can flourish, and allow them to forge friendships with other students on the same educational journey. Unlike online schools, I tailor my offering to each individual so that no student is left behind. I encourage students to learn at their own pace, and mix individual learning with group exercises and extended projects.
I am currently taking enquiries and enrolments for the following IGCSE courses starting in September 2022. Register now.
- English Language
- English Literature
- Maths
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Geography
- History

SUBJECT INFORMATION
LANGUAGE
Home educators usually enter for the IGCSE as the GCSE has a speaking component which can make the entry process slightly difficult. My online classes cater for Edexcel A, Edexcel B, and the Cambridge IGCSE, with a strong focus on creative expression.
LITERATURE
I love to see the modern takes students have on some classic pieces of literature! I teach the AQA GCSE syllabus and my chosen texts are Romeo and Juliet, A Christmas Carol, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, and Power & Conflict poetry.
MATHS
I teach the Edexcel IGCSE A syllabus and cater for students entering either Foundation Tier or Higher Tier. There is flexibility to change your mind about the Tier as you see how your child progresses, with entries for summer exams not due until February.
BIOLOGY
I teach the Edexcel IGCSE syllabus which concludes with two written examinations.
CHEMISTRY
I teach the Edexcel IGCSE syllabus which concludes with two written examinations.
PHYSICS
I teach the Edexcel IGCSE syllabus which concludes with two written examinations.
GEOGRAPHY
I teach the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus which is split into three themes:
- Population and Settlement
- The Natural Environment
- Economic Development
Students learn about amazing places all over the world and sit three exams, with the Paper 4 acting as the alternative to coursework.
HISTORY
I teach the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus which is split into two sections:
- Core Content Option B: International Relations Since 1919
- Depth Study: Germany, 1918-1945
The assessment consists of three examinations, with Paper 2 being a Source Paper and Paper 4 acting as the alternative to coursework
Home education allows you to be flexible with your approach and for your child to progress at their own pace. You don't have to choose specific subjects, or build your schedule according to a rigid structure.
Parents want educators who can cater to their child's particular needs - that's why they choose me. I have nearly a decade of experience working with home educated children which puts me in the perfect position to support families.
I have worked with students who have had problems at school, and those who have left school to pursue a sporting career.
Unlike some online schools, I do not have any compulsory subjects. I don't believe that students should have to study subjects which they have no interest in.
The most popular subjects are:
- English Language
- English Literature
- Maths
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Geography
- History
Definitely! I have previously catered for students wishing to study Business, Economics, Psychology, Religion, and Sociology, along with languages including Arabic, French, Mandarin, and Spanish.
Unlike many online schools, I do not stream individuals based on their age. One of the biggest advantages of home education is that students can take exams when they feel that they are ready. I have had students as young as 9 who have sat IGCSEs and achieved Grade 9.
Students sit official exams in the same way they would if they were in mainstream education. They enter with a local exam centre and this does incur additional costs. All of our students receive discounted entries with our exam partners Tutors & Exams.
I primarily follow the Edexcel IGCSE exam boards, although I can cater for alternatives as there is often a lot of crossover content.
No! The beauty of remote learning is that I am able to teach students wherever they are in the world. I have taught students in over 20 different countries.
Your child will need either a laptop, a computer, or a smart device to access the lessons. All work is set via Google Classroom but if your child would like to work through textbooks, please let me know and I will send you the links to purchase them.
I don't tie you in to hefty termly contracts - I like to keep it simple as I know circumstances change. I send out an invoice at the start of each month which must be paid before your child attends any lessons*.
My group classes all cost £10 per hour.
I am different to many online schools in that I do not have set term dates, although I do take the traditional two weeks off over Christmas.
*You pay for all invoiced sessions, even those missed through illness.
Sure! On average home educated students sit at least five IGCSEs, as that is often the requirement to progress to college. A one-year IGCSE course usually lasts around 40 weeks.
What does that mean for you?
£50 p/w for 40 weeks = £2000
This is only a guide as the lessons for some subjects are longer than one hour. Furthermore, one of the beauties of home education is that you can stagger the exams over multiple exam sittings.
For home educated students to sit exams, they must register with either a local school/college or a private exam centre. This incurs additional costs. All of our students receive discounted entries with our exam partners Tutors & Exams, where the average IGCSE costs £169. If your child has recently deregistered from a school, it is always worth contacting them to see if they would consider facilitating the exams.
WHAT THEY SAY...
What do families say about my online classes?
'The relaxed nature of the lessons made me feel really comfortable. Patrick's style of teaching put the whole class at ease and he was always on hand to support when I had questions.'
'I left school as I was having some problems with anxiety and the whole environment was stressing me out. Patrick made me feel relaxed and gave me the space to breathe so I could concentrate on my studies without fear.'
'We took our daughter out of school as she is a gymnast competing on the international stage. Patrick managed her schedule effectively to ensure that her long training hours didn't negatively affect her academic performance. The service was comprehensive in nature, offering advice on nutrition, training, and study, and working in collaboration with her coaches.'
'Our daughter is an aspiring actress so we decided to home educate her to ensure that she had ample time to prepare for auditions. Patrick structured her learning with the utmost efficiency to give her the best opportunity to succeed with her passion. She spent time filing in multiple locations across the world, acting in programmes such as Game of Thrones, but we never had any worries that her education would suffer.'
'If there were Home Ed awards then Patrick would get one! He has worked with my son in multiple subjects and shown great skill in his approach. He really cares about the wellbeing of his students. I have no hesitation in recommending Patrick.'
'I was keen to stagger my exams over a number of years so that I could experience things outside a traditional school environment. Patrick gave me the platform to do this. Over my time with him, I studied English Language, Biology, History & Geography, and for each subject I received exceptional support.'
